Psychotherapy

Many people have chosen to pursue psychotherapy with us as part of their path to a more fulfilling life, and have found relief, healing and solutions in these areas:

  • Anxiety and Panic Disorders
  • Depressive Disorders
  • Traumatic Events: such as
Public Safety, Workplace Incidents,  Auto Accidents
  • Trauma from Physical, Emotional, and Sexual Abuse
  • Complicated Bereavement
  • Strengthening Recovery from Alcoholism
  • Couple’s Conflict and Growth toward Greater Intimacy

Our therapy training over a number of years has committed us to a holistic approach which builds on the strengths that are unique to each person while helping them create  the energy  they need to build new emotional resilience and interpersonal dexterity for the long run.

We  think that the more of your experience that is involved in creating change in your life, the more successful and long lasting that change can be.  This may include understanding and working with:

  • your ways of behaving
  • how you relate to your feelings
  • memories and sensations stored in your body
  • the connections between  thoughts, feelings and behavior
  • how your past experiences influence your present problem
  • the way your personality is structured including areas of conflict and harmony

As you learn more about yourself and your ways of  being and interacting with others, you will come to know  what’s serving you and what you’d like to do differently.

We have found EMDR to be a powerful and effective mind-body method for treating and healing trauma, as well as for building psychological resources and removing blocks to personal and work-place performance.

We provide a safe environment where you can broaden and deepen your understanding of yourself and  practice the change you wish to create.
